<p>Now as we know, recession coming or not, Yahoo! would have had to do some layoffs regardless due to it&#8217;s current state.   But with the financial market what it is Yahoo! is probably quite worried.</p>
<p>With 14,000+ employees, will a few thousand make a difference to the operatiions&#8211;probably not.  But as TechCrunch aptly puts it Yahoo! has been talent starved and making the pool even more shallow is not going to help.</p>
<p>If the layoffs our, it will be the second series of layoffs for the major company just this year.  In January they laid off 1,000 employees.</p>
